Processing flows including printing and spraying are largely governed by extensional rather than shear processes. We use extensional rheology to link the macroscopic flow properties to suspension sprayability and performance. Capillary breakup extensional rheometry (CABER) and in-house methods are used to capture filament formation and breakup behavior, which will help in formulating better suspensions for fields including inkjet printing, coatings, and thin film preparation for energy storage devices and energy efficiency applications.
